Your First Recurring House Cleaning in Palm Beach Gardens: What to Expect

Read reviews of cleaning companies and a pattern shows up. The first visit was great. Then the price changed, or the second visit felt lighter, or an extra hour appeared on the card with no warning. Most of those complaints come from the same place. Nobody explained how recurring service works before it started.

This is the explanation. It covers the first visit, the visits after it, and the moments where surprises tend to happen. Some of it is specific to how we work at Neat and Repeat Cleaning. The questions apply to any company you hire in Palm Beach Gardens.

Why the First Visit Is Different

Recurring cleaning only works when the home starts at a baseline. If a home hasn't been cleaned professionally in a while, the first visit is an initial deep cleaning. It can take two to three times longer than a regular visit, and it's priced accordingly.

A deep clean reaches what a regular visit maintains. Baseboards and woodwork are hand-washed. Fans, vents and tall shelves are reached from a 6-foot ladder. Bathrooms get the time a regular visit can't give them. See our deep cleaning in Palm Beach Gardens page for the full list.

Once that's done, every recurring visit maintains the baseline instead of chasing it. That's why visit two feels lighter and takes less time. It isn't a drop in quality. It's the plan working.

How the Quote Works

Our pricing is based on labor hours. For most homes, we quote over the phone using square footage, bedrooms and baths, how many people and pets live there, and how the home is used. Homes over 5,000 square feet get an in-person walkthrough.

Two things to know so nothing surprises you later:

  • The price is confirmed when the team arrives. If the home needs more time than the phone quote assumed, we tell you before work starts, not after.

  • Extra time is approved first. If something can't be finished in the time booked, the team lets you know and offers to add time. Nothing is added to your card without a conversation.

Most of our recurring clients start around $225 a cleaning and go up from there. Our house cleaning prices page breaks down what moves that number.

Before the Team Arrives

A little prep means the team spends its time cleaning instead of picking up.

  • Clear counters and floors of clothes, papers, toys and beach gear.

  • Put dishes away so the kitchen gets a full clean.

  • Keep pets out of the rooms being cleaned. Our team can't move pets from room to room.

  • Put away valuables and anything fragile.

  • Turn off the alarm, or give the office the code and steps.

  • Keep the air on. We can't clean a home that's above 78 degrees inside.

Our teams can lift up to 25 pounds, so heavy furniture stays where it is.

Arrival Windows and Access

The first slot of the day is 8 AM. Arrival times carry a window of plus or minus 45 minutes, because the job before yours can run long or short. Plan for the window, not the minute.

You don't need to be home. A door keypad, garage keypad or lockbox works best. We can provide a secure lockbox for $30. We try not to hold keys for residential clients.

If you live in a gated community like Steeplechase or Old Palm, tell us before booking. We need Neat and Repeat Cleaning on the approved vendor list, plus any gate codes or prior authorization. Wait time at a gate is billed.

Who Shows Up

Our technicians are W-2 employees, not subcontractors. They're background-checked, bonded and insured, and we carry workers' comp on every one. They complete the ISSA Certified Professional Housekeeper course and our own training before they enter a client's home. Our team works in English and Spanish.

Teams work in pairs. We build every client a routine and try our best to send the same two technicians each visit. When one is out, you hear it from us first, and a technician who already knows your home works alongside the replacement. We explain how that works in why a different cleaner shows up every visit.

What Happens During the Visit

When a technician signs in at your home, your notes open. Where the dog food goes. Which counters are marble. Which room is off limits. When they sign out, the notes close until the next visit.

A few rules the team follows every time:

  • A closed door means skip that room. If a door is closed for another reason, tell the office and we'll add a note.

  • Shoes stay on.

  • We bring our own supplies, including HEPA-filter vacuums and neutral pH products that are safe on sealed wood, stone and marble.

  • We don't use floor steamers.

A manager stops in on jobs to check the work in person. You shouldn't be the one catching what was missed.

After the Visit

You'll get a scorecard after every clean. Use it. It's how we learn what you care about most, and it's how your notes get better over time.

If something was missed, call the office within 24 hours. We'll send the team back to re-clean that area at no cost. If something is damaged, report it within 24 hours as well. We'll repair or replace it at our discretion.

Visits Two, Three and Beyond

Here's where expectations matter most. A recurring visit covers the kitchen, bathrooms, living areas and bedrooms every time. Some detail items, like fan blades, baseboards and door frames, rotate across visits. The whole home gets covered over the cycle, and each visit stays on time.

If you want a rotation item done on a specific visit, tell the office ahead of time. We'll work it into that visit where the booked time allows.

Your price stays the same unless something about the home changes. If it does, we tell you before the new price applies. Not sure weekly or bi-weekly is right? See how often you should have your house cleaned.

Changing or Cancelling a Visit

We ask for at least 48 business hours of notice to move or cancel. Inside 48 hours, a 50% fee applies. Inside 24 hours, or if the team is locked out, the full fee applies. There's no long-term contract. You can change your frequency or stop service by calling the office.

Questions People Ask Before Their First Visit

Will my second visit cost the same as the first?

Usually less. The first visit is often a deep clean, which takes longer. Recurring visits maintain the home and take fewer labor hours.

What if the team runs out of time?

They tell you and offer to add time. Nothing is charged without your okay.

Do you clean inside the oven and fridge?

Those are add-ons, along with inside cabinets. See our interior appliance cleaning page.

What if I'm not happy with the first clean?

Call within 24 hours. We re-clean the area at no cost. We don't offer refunds, so we'd rather fix it.
